My name is Dr. Nicole Evans. I have been the director for The Preschool at Point Washington for almost three years. I am a veteran teacher, with eleven years at the elementary school level and two in higher education. I am eager to get to know you and your child(ren). I am confident that together we will create a place where your child will grow and develop cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally.
I would also like to take a moment to provide you with some background information about my life outside of the preschool. I moved from Macon, Georgia several years ago. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, and a M.Ed. in Educational Technology, both from Georgia College & State University. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Mercer University. I have a wonderful husband, Jay Evans, who works for MainStreet Defuniak Springs, and three beautiful daughters.
The Preschool at Point Washington is thrilled to welcome you to our preschool family and we look forward to partnering with you in the beginning stages of your child’s education. Preschool is an exciting time filled with wonder and exploration. We strive to provide a quality, developmentally appropriate learning experience for each child. Our staff is highly qualified and brings years of experience to the classroom. Each day will be filled with fun and exciting opportunities to help your child develop spiritually, academically, and socially. We look forward to all that God will do this year as we work together in building a foundation for your child’s future.
Hi, my name is Kelley Savage. I am the current assistant director at The Preschool at Point Washington. I have been working here since January of 2016 and have had the pleasure to experience teaching in each of our classrooms. I’ve loved each age group that I’ve taught, but always wanted to work my way up the ladder to administration. When the opportunity presented itself to advance, I was blessed to have been given the chance to help lead the preschool.
A little bit of background about myself…I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Troy University in 2013. From there, I went on to receive a master’s degree from The University of West Florida in health promotion/worksite wellness. This degree allowed me to be accepted into an internship program in Nashville, TN with one of the leading operators of general acute care hospitals, Community Health Systems. Although I loved my job, family is extremely important to me, and in 2015 I decided to move back to my hometown (Fort Walton Beach) to be closer to them and my boyfriend at the time. Fast forward three years and I’m now married to that amazing man, Michael, we bought our first house last year, and I’m a mom to a three-year-old English Springer Spaniel named Chap. We love FSU football and traveling any chance we get.
I love working with children and I know God brought me into this path. I come to work knowing that these little human beings are teaching me more than I could ever teach them. I am so blessed to work with your children and all children that come through the doors at The Preschool at Point Washington.
